lyrics

The Trip I Never Did
(felipe ayres)

I was wearing plaid pants
Bagpacking and empty hands
Ready to get on the road

I was wandering around
Eating snow and hearing all
The talking frogs I met in the way

And she was looking at me with that silly face

Wondering why

I was wearing winter socks

I met a man with his guitar
Playing for no reason
For the dead in the cemetery

The crows alighting on the ground
Singing along with gloomy sounds
While the good man gave us a smile

And she was looking at me with that silly face

Wondering why

And I did forget
Some things in my attic
A yellow drape
And an old cardigan

Sometimes I think I could never come back again
Then I remember the smell of the cut grass and want to lay on it

I never stop
To think in ourselves (I can tell you)
I never stop
To believe in ourselves

But I don´t want this day comes to an end
I “wanna” stay close just for once to the edge
